Ingredients
- Crumb Topping:
- - 37.5g sugar
- - 37.5g brown sugar
- - 90g all-purpose flour
- - 70g unsalted butter
- Apple Spice Loaf Bread (9x5 inch pan)
- - 2 large apples (peeled and cored, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- - 2¼ cups all-purpose flour (270g)
- -¾ cup granulated sugar(150g)
- - ¾ cup packed light brown sugar (165g)
- - 1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- - ¾ tsp baking soda
- - ½ tsp baking powder
- - ½ tsp salt
- - ½ tsp grated nutmeg
- - 3 large eggs, beaten
- - ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted (180ml)
- - ¾ cup chopped walnuts or pecans or both! (optional, 90g)
- Glaze:
- - 120g powdered sugar
- - 2 Tbsp milk
- - 1 Tbsp 20g honey
Directions
- Step 1
- Crumb Topping: Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, mix the sugar, brown sugar, and flour until well combined. Add Butter: Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture forms a crumbly texture. Set aside.

- Apple Loaf: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 9×5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper. Grate or finely chop the apple

- set aside. I grated one and chopped the other one. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugars, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Mix in eggs and melted butter until thick. Fold in the apples and nuts (optional). Pour batter into the pan, smooth the top, and sprinkle with the crumb topping. If you don’t want to make crumb topping you can just sprinkle with sugar or just bake as it is.

- Bake: Bake for 55–65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in the pan, then fully on a rack. Optionally you can drizzle with the glaze. You can make the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, honey and milk.

- Slice and serve warm. Store leftovers wrapped in the fridge for up to 5 days.
